Description

The Autism SIG provides a forum for members who serve youth with neurodevelopmental disabilities to engage with one another through monthly group meetings, ad hoc work groups/projects, Discussion Board conversation, and programming during the SDBP annual in-person conference. Monthly SIG meetings occur on the 4th Fridays of each month at 12pm Eastern (see the Member Only calendar for a link); meetings are open to all SDBP members, and typically include a guest speaker or topic. We currently have two SIG workgroups: Access to Care and Neurodiversity. The SIG also collaborates with other SDBP groups (e.g., Advocacy Committee, Membership, etc.) on initiatives. SIG members also collaborate regularly to bring exciting content to the annual meeting.

Recent Activity
  • Guest presentations to the SIG on recent research related to care delivery and autism systems/advocacy.
  • Conference sessions focused on the SAFE Initiative for inclusive healthcare, community-based models of autism diagnosis, and cutting-edge autism research.
  • Collaboration with the Advocacy SIG focused on the 2024 annual meeting in Washington DC.
