The Society for Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics (SDBP) is committed to advocating for policies and practices that advance the developmental and behavioral health of children and families. Our official statements reflect evidence-based positions on issues impacting the pediatric healthcare workforce, access to services, and the well-being of those we serve. Each statement is developed through interdisciplinary collaboration and represents the collective expertise and values of our members.
We encourage stakeholders, partners, and the public to review and share these statements to support advocacy efforts and inform decision-making in healthcare, education, and policy.
In response to the White House press conference about Tylenol, leucovorin and autism, the SDBP developed and approved two statements, a professional statement and parent/ family informational sheet. These resources are available to all to help disseminate accurate information on the topic. The Parent/ Family Info Sheet is now available in multiple languages!
In response to the U.S. Department of Education (DOE) proposing a rule that would designate certain occupations as non-professional, SDBP has developed the following statement out of deep concern of the negative consequences this decision would have on the pediatric healthcare workforce and the children and families who rely on it.
