The Exploring DBP Program provides medical students, pediatric residents, and interested pediatricians the opportunity to experience the subspecialty of Developmental & Behavioral Pediatrics through educational sessions, mentorship, and networking at the SDBP Annual Meeting.

The Exploring DBP Program is intended for individuals interested in learning more about developmental and behavioral pediatrics, including:
• Medical students
• Pediatric residents
• Practicing pediatricians considering additional training in DBP

• Attendance at the SDBP Annual Meeting

Eligibility Summary

Applicants must:
• Be a medical student, pediatric resident, or practicing pediatrician
• Have an interest in developmental and behavioral pediatrics
• Register for and attend the 2026 SDBP Annual Meeting if selected

Please note:

  • The program is not available to prior applicants who have previously been awarded scholarship funding to the SDBP annual meeting or to residents who have been matched to a DBP fellowship program.
  • This program prioritizes individuals who are still in the “discovery” phase of their journey, as opposed to applicants who have a clear plan and access to supports within the field of DBP.

Support Provided

Selected participants will receive:
Waived registration for the SDBP Annual Meeting
Travel and/or lodging support
