Thomas Challman, MD

Dr. Challman is a developmental pediatrician and Medical Director of the Geisinger Department of Developmental Medicine. He also serves as Director of Pediatric Research for the Geisinger Health System. Dr. Challman received his bachelor's degree in biochemistry from the University of Pennsylvania and medical degree from the Georgetown University School of Medicine. Following military service as an Air Force medical officer stationed at Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska, he completed a residency in Pediatrics at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, and a fellowship in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities at the Kennedy-Krieger Institute/Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Challman has been at Geisinger since 2002 and helped lead the creation of the Geisinger Department of Developmental Medicine (previously known as the Geisinger Autism & Developmental Medicine Institute), a clinical-research center located in Central Pennsylvania focused on the care of individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders.
