The mission of the International SIG, established in 2011, is to promote optimal child development and care for children with disabilities both internationally and among international immigrants, refugees and adoptees, and to support Developmental-Behavioral practitioners who work with these populations.
The SIG's goals are to provide a forum for sharing information about DBP work being done in low-resource countries, to support continuing education opportunities on international DBP topics, to identify opportunities for international service and research, collaboration and training among SDBP members, and to promote a global perspective within the SDBP community.
Past projects have included presentations at the SDBP Annual Meeting on overseas projects, contributions to the SDBP newsletter, posting of hot topics on the SDBP discussion board and the creation of a listserve generating monthly emails related to international DBP work.
